Shock is a hardcore casual raiding guild on the Icecrown (PVE) server. We strive to maximize our time and conquer new content during our eleven hour raid week. Characterized by starting and ending promptly, our raids have a businesslike feel where efficiency is a chief concern. We maintain a friendly, helpful atmosphere and hold each other accountable to a high level of execution. Raid times are focused on 25 man raid content including achievements and hard modes. Guild History
<Shock> was founded in January 2006 by Zygore as a PVP guild. Of course we kicked ass, but upon realizing that some of the best PVP gear could be obtained through PVE, we decided to give it a try. After some failed atempts at raiding with other guilds, we got it together and cleared BWL in just 2 weeks.
Due to real life pursuits, Zygore had to take a break from the game and Cayenna found himself as the Guild Leader when Burning Crusade arrived. <Shock> started slowly clearing Karazhan with one and then two weekly raid teams. As we entered Gruul's Lair, Sanik took over as Guild Leader and Zygore returned to us. Gruul and Magtheridon fell quickly and we moved into SSC. Sanik redesigned our leadership structure into what we use now with class archtype leaders. Also, <Aftershock> was formed from a small group of raiders who wanted a less hardcore raiding environment.
In the fall of '07 we cleared SSC and TK and moved into Black Temple in December. In November leadership passed to Morgauss and Zygore who co-led through the long wait for Sunwell. Despite all the times we killed Illidan, Function only received the offhand warglaive, which still saddens us all. We had to abandon farming for them as Sunwell occupied our time for the summer. It was a rough time, with Zygore leaving again, and we struggled through the hot months and tough content. Brutallus threatened to defeat us, but in the end we cleared all but Kil'Jaden before Wrath arrived.
Wrath of the Lich king brought us Voke (aka Function) as guild leader and three weeks to hit level 80. We immediately cleared Naxx, Eye of Eternity, and Sartherion on 10 and 25 man. We began working on achievements eventually downing Sarth 3D, but never quite getting Immortal. Voke passed leadership to Beroth (Rayned/Crazy) when his work schedule forced him to step down. Crazy brought us strong, consistent leadership with a focus on progression and always being ready for the future.
We were all relieved when Ulduar arrived as the farming had grown quite dull. We quickly cleared the place and started in on the hard modes and achievements. Tibe also put together a 10 man group running on offnights to get the 310 drake.
In August Crazy passed leadership over to Slashmoo who brought us a fresh perspective and a renewed sense of community. Unfortunately, his job took him away from us and in September Morgauss returned to the big chair.
After quickly clearing Crusader's Coliseum, both regular and heroic, we are working on Icecrown Citadel and seeing what else Blizzard has in store for us. We are currently doing achievments, hardmodes, 10 mans on offnights, and having a lot of fun.
Through the years, changes, and new content <Shock> has continued to be a home for quality raiders seeking a hardcore raid on a casual schedule; a place where they are treated with respect and where efficiency is key.
